Configuring part numbering
Setting the scheme new parts follow.
Configured under Administration → Part Numbering. Schemes can differ per category.
Options
- Sequential — a running number with configurable padding
- Category prefixed — a prefix per category, then a sequence
- Project prefixed — the project provides the prefix
- Custom pattern — a defined structure of fixed and variable segments
Other settings
- Whether users may enter their own numbers
- Whether numbers are forced to upper case
- Starting value and increment
Changing a scheme
Changes affect new parts only. Existing numbers are untouched. Renumbering an existing library is a deliberate migration, not a settings change — plan it, and expect to touch drawings and supplier records.
