Add-in troubleshooting
The problems that actually come up, and how to clear them.
| Symptom | Try this |
|---|---|
| Octagon tab missing from the task pane | In SolidWorks, Tools → Add-Ins and tick Octagon in both columns. Restart SolidWorks. |
| Panel is blank or white | The embedded browser component may be missing. Reinstall the add-in, which installs it, then restart. |
| Sign-in window opens and nothing happens | Your browser may have blocked the return. Allow pop-ups for your vault address and try again. |
| "Cannot reach vault" | Confirm you can open the vault address in a browser on the same machine. If not, it's a network or firewall matter for IT. |
| Check-in fails partway | Usually a reference to a file not in the vault. The message names it — register that file, then retry. |
| Check-in is very slow | Large assemblies take time on the first check-in. Subsequent ones only send changed files. |
| Properties not syncing | Property mapping is configured by your administrator. Ask them to confirm the mapping for that category. |
