Testing requirements
Defining what must be tested and recording results.
Test requirements attach to a part or assembly and define what must be verified before it can pass.
Defining a requirement
- Open the part's Testing tab and add a requirement.
- Describe the test and its acceptance criteria — be specific enough that two people would judge it the same way.
- Set the sampling: every unit, first article, or a defined sample.
- Add expected duration, which feeds the labour rollup.
Recording results
Results are recorded against the requirement with a pass or fail, the measured value where applicable, who tested, and any attached evidence. Failures can be linked to a change request.
Exporting
Requirements and results export as a test plan or a report, which is normally what a customer's quality department asks for.
Still stuck?
Email [email protected] and a person will pick it up. Include the part number and what you were doing — it saves a round trip.
