Sharing files outside the company

Getting a drawing to a supplier without emailing it.

Emailing a drawing loses control of it the moment it's sent. Sharing from the vault keeps the link live, revocable and logged.

Creating a share

  1. Open the part or document and choose Share.
  2. Pick which files to include.
  3. Set an expiry date if the access should be temporary.
  4. Choose whether the recipient must sign a confidentiality agreement first.
  5. Send the link.

What the recipient sees

Only what you shared — no navigation into the rest of the vault, no other parts, no pricing. They can view and download the files included and nothing else.

What's recorded

Revoking

Open the share and revoke it. The link stops working immediately. This is the practical difference from email — you can withdraw access after the fact.

Always current

A share points at the part, not at a copy of the file. When you release a new revision, the recipient sees the new one. Nobody ends up building to a superseded drawing they were sent months ago.

Still stuck?

Email [email protected] and a person will pick it up. Include the part number and what you were doing — it saves a round trip.
